This certificate is identified to the item described by our stock number, the condition reports and the photographs kept in our archive. It can therefore only be fully validated against this document if matched with our archive files.

The identification is made against the evidence described in the second box. Sally’s Rocking Horses Ltd can only accept responsibility for the accuracy of this evidence and upon which our identification is made. We endeavour to be as accurate as possible in providing this evidence, but some evidence is likely to be subjective, such as styling. Identifications made on such evidence are inevitably going to have a degree of uncertainty, hence the term "attributed to" is used. In this instance the identification is based on the considered opinion of our expert and cannot be taken as conclusive proof of such.

Sally’s Rocking Horses Ltd cannot accept responsibility for evidence of provenance. Relevant documentation supporting such evidence is usually supplied with the item, whilst every effort is made to validate such documentation, that and other evidence of provenance is usually provided by third parties for whom Sally’s Rocking Horses Ltd cannot accept responsibility.

Furthermore the identification, and evidence it is based on, is only valid where the item is conclusively matched against our archive files. Future alteration, restoration or damage may make this difficult if not impossible, in which instance, Sally’s Rocking Horses Ltd cannot accept any responsibility for the validity of this certificate.

Some items, especially early ones will be attributed to an unknown maker. This is quite common with early horses as little recorded evidence of their workmanship exists. Such an identification should nevertheless describe the quality of workmanship and compare it against contemporary standards.
