Sidney is a Lines Bros Sportiboy 2, dating to circa 1927-30. He has been over painted, lost his mane and tail and light woodworm infestation to parts of his stand. However he is exceptional in having what appears to be the original leather work, in good condition for its age, as a "Jouster" a variation of the Sportiboy with medieval tournament trappings as featured in Lines Bros 1925 catalogue. Although we have seen a few such horses with traces of this leatherwork, this is the first one we have come across that is so complete.

Sidney is now having a well deserved restoration, currently removing the top coat of paint with which he was over painted. His woodworm, though probably dormant has received treatment. This is an ongoing project that might suit a good restorer, or he can be supplied after an appropriate restoration, for the discerning collector.
