Hessian covered and painted horse, on bow rocker, attributed to Stred.
These basic rocking horses were made from a hessian covering with a straw filler. Bramble has been completely restored, though in the original style, so is in excellent condition throughout. Unusually a blonde mane with a black tail, in horsehair. New tack, including a fixed saddle similar to the original pattern.
These distinctive horses were made in some quantity in Central Europe between the wars, unusual to find one so extensively restored and well finished.
