Beautiful and very original Baby Carriages in excellent condition for its age.
This horse almost certainly has his original chestnut mane and tail, in reasonable condition, though missing the forelock. The brown corduroy saddle is undamaged, with virtually no wear, all with original BCL tack. Paintwork is lightly worn, with two small chips into the gesso on the rump.
The stand still bears the BCL transfer logo on the base.
It is unusual to find a horse of this age in such good condition and virtually untouched. Baby Carriages Ltd ceased trading in 1955, closely related to the Collinsons family, they produced similar horses, but of a higher quality.
